Marshall for AG? An Idea Worth Considering!

Alabama AG Steve Marshall may have missed out on the Senate seat, but hear me out: could he be the perfect fit for U.S. Attorney General? With an opening at the DOJ after Pam Bondi stepped aside, it's time to think outside the box. And who better than a seasoned fighter who's championed conservative values in the courts for years?

A Champion of Conservative Values

Marshall's track record speaks volumes. He's been a vocal advocate for causes many of us hold dear.

  • Protecting Kids: Remember that amicus brief supporting laws protecting kids from experimental gender treatments? That was Marshall.
  • Presidential Immunity: He rallied support from 22 states for Trump's claim of presidential immunity. Say what you will about the former president, but Marshall showed loyalty.
  • Title IX: Marshall took on the Biden administration's proposed changes to Title IX, fighting to maintain the traditional definition of "sex."
  • Racial Gerrymandering: He stood against it, arguing his case before the Supreme Court.

He's also been a staunch defender of the unborn, supporting fetal heartbeat bills and working to enforce Alabama's abortion ban after Roe was overturned. The guy's got a resume!

Tackling Crime: A Proven Leader

Beyond the courtroom battles, the AG has to be tough on crime. And guess what? Marshall has a plan for that too. He helped create the Metro Area Crime Suppression Unit in Montgomery, with support from the ATF and ALEA. The results were immediate. In just two weeks, the unit conducted hundreds of traffic stops, made dozens of arrests, recovered stolen vehicles, and seized firearms.

Time to Enlist Marshall

Marshall has consistently proven his ability to fight for the people, for states' rights, against crime, and against corruption, all while promoting those core conservative values we believe in. He put Alabama first, now it's time for Trump to bring him in to fight for America as the next U.S. Attorney General.

T-38 Talon Fleet Grounded!

Whoa! The U.S. Air Force just put the brakes on all T-38 Talon flights after last week's close call with a jet from Columbus Air Force Base out in west Alabama.

Safety First!

The Air Force is playing it super safe, calling the pause "out of an abundance of caution" while they dig into what happened on May 12. The jet belonged to the Mississippi base.

What's the Hold Up?

This time out lets the Safety Investigation Board sniff around for clues and double-check everything is A-Okay for our aircrews and planes.

Talon Down (But Everyone's Okay!)

The jet was a T-38 Talon II, a speedy trainer jet. Thankfully, both pilots punched out before it went down, and everyone's safe and sound.

Mystery Mishap

Air Force peeps are still scratching their heads about what caused the crash. The investigation is ongoing, and there's no word yet on how long the grounding will last. They're doing some serious engineering analysis and figuring out how to inspect the whole fleet.

Simulator Time!

The pause hits T-38s in a bunch of commands, including Air Education and Training Command. Crews will keep sharp with simulator training, so they're ready to rock when the all-clear comes.

When Will They Fly Again?

Individual planes can get back in the air after inspections and any fixes, but the Air Force hasn't said when the whole fleet will be cleared for takeoff.

Local Connection

Columbus Air Force Base, near the Alabama border in Mississippi, is pretty close to towns like Fayette and Tuscaloosa in west Alabama.

Big News for Alabama's National Guard and Veterans!

Get ready for some good news, ChumCity! Alabama's National Guard members and veterans are getting even more support thanks to a brand-new partnership. The Alabama Department of Veterans Affairs (ADVA) has teamed up with the Alabama National Guard to bring vital veteran support services directly to Joint Force Headquarters in Montgomery.

Ribbon-Cutting Celebration

State leaders recently celebrated the grand opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. This new ADVA office, conveniently located inside Joint Force Headquarters, will be a one-stop shop. It'll connect service members, veterans, and their families with accredited Veterans Service Officers. They can help with everything from benefits claims to healthcare enrollment.

Governor Ivey's Take

Governor Kay Ivey emphasized Alabama's dedication to supporting its military community through this collaboration. "This partnership highlights Alabama's commitment to caring for our veterans and military families," she said. "By bringing these services directly to our Guardsmen, we're proving that supporting our brave men and women is a top priority. Alabama is proud to be the most military- and veteran-friendly state!"

Making Resources Easier to Reach

The goal? Make veteran resources super accessible for Soldiers and Airmen, both during and after their service.

A Word from the Adjutant General

Alabama National Guard Adjutant General Maj. Gen. David Pritchett is thrilled about the improved access to support services. "This office shows our continued commitment to our people," he said. "Having ADVA services right here at Joint Force Headquarters means easy, direct access to resources that can truly make a difference."

Commissioner Newton's Perspective

ADVA Commissioner Jeff Newton, a 41-year veteran of the Alabama Air National Guard, believes this partnership will greatly improve access to services for military families statewide. “This is a celebration of working together to support those who have served. We are grateful to work alongside the Alabama National Guard."

ADVA's Statewide Reach

The Alabama Department of Veterans Affairs already operates 64 Veterans Service Offices throughout the state. They provide top-notch assistance with claims, benefits, and a whole range of veteran-related services.

Tuberville Poised for Another Alabama Victory?

Tommy Tuberville looks like a shoo-in for the Alabama governor's race, folks! Prediction markets like Polymarket and Kalshi are practically handing him the win, with odds stacked heavily in his favor – a whopping 92% chance, compared to former Senator Doug Jones' slim 8%.

Prediction Markets Weigh In

For the uninitiated, Polymarket and Kalshi are where savvy bettors put their money where their mouths are on political outcomes. Those numbers aren't just pulled out of thin air; they represent real-time insights from folks with skin in the game.

Red Tide Rising

Let's be real, Alabama's deep-red status makes these numbers hardly shocking. Trump crushed it here in '24 by a massive 30 points, and Tuberville (R-Auburn) just steamrolled the primary, snagging over 85% of the vote. Talk about a united front heading into November!

Deja Vu?

Remember 2020? Tuberville already trounced Jones in the Senate race (60% to 40%, give or take), snatching the seat Jones had held since that wild 2017 special election against Roy Moore. That Jones victory was definitely considered a fluke, driven by, shall we say, unique circumstances.

Can Jones Pull Off Another Miracle?

Jones is the last Dem to win statewide in Alabama. November will be the ultimate test: can he make this race even remotely competitive? Stay tuned, ChumCity citizens!

Senators Aim to Mandate E-Verify Nationwide!

Hold onto your hats, ChumCity! Senators Tommy Tuberville and Katie Britt just dropped the Mandatory E-Verify Act of 2026, aiming to make E-Verify a must-do for every employer across the U.S. This bill would ensure everyone's checking employment eligibility and would permanently keep the E-Verify program running.

"American Jobs for Americans!"

Senator Tuberville is fired up, stating, "American jobs should be going to Americans!" He sees E-Verify as a "proven tool" to protect those good-paying gigs and help businesses staff up legally. It's all about enforcing immigration laws and ensuring workforce participation, he says.

Cracking Down on Illegal Employment

Senator Britt didn't mince words either. "If you come to this country illegally, you shouldn't be working in the United States." This legislation aims to build on border security efforts by removing what they call the "largest magnet" for illegal immigration.

The Details

While some states and federal agencies already use E-Verify, there's no national standard. This new law would amp up the penalties (both civil and criminal) for employing those not authorized to work here, boost fraud prevention, and even stop states from blocking employers who want to use E-Verify.

The Numbers Don't Lie!

Recent reports show that the number of unauthorized workers in the U.S. has grown in recent years, reaching nearly 10.8 million by early 2025.

More Immigration Moves

This isn't Tuberville's first rodeo on immigration. He recently introduced another bill targeting chain migration and the diversity visa lottery. He and Britt have teamed up on immigration legislation before, too.

Big Names on Board

This bill has some serious backing, with co-sponsors like Senators Blackburn, Budd, Capito, Cotton, Cruz, Graham, Hyde-Smith, and Lankford. Plus, groups like the Federation for American Immigration Reform and NumbersUSA are throwing their support behind it!

Loyalty and Conviction Win the Day

Broussard emphasized Robertson's decade-long commitment to the Attorney General's office. He said she stuck around through thick and thin, showing loyalty and conviction that really matters. He believes she could become a seriously influential AG. He's urging all Republicans to join him in backing her on June 16th.

Robertson Leads the Pack

Robertson topped the charts in the Republican primary, snagging 40.5% of the vote and winning big in 44 counties, including the six most populated. Now, she's up against former Supreme Court Justice Jay Mitchell in that crucial June runoff. Get ready to rumble!
