Election Integrity Showdown: Moore Defends Voter ID Bill!

U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) is firing back at Democrats, defending a Republican-led election integrity bill that's stirring up major controversy! Dems are calling the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act racist, but Moore isn't backing down.

What's the SAVE Act?

The SAVE Act, expected to hit the Senate floor this week, would require good ol' ID and proof of citizenship to register to vote. Simple, right? Not according to Democratic Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, who's labeled it "Jim Crow 2.0" and claims it will "disenfranchise millions." Sounds dramatic!

Moore's Response: "They're Playing the Race Card!"

Moore, who's also eyeing a U.S. Senate seat, didn't hold back on WVNN's "The Yaffee Program." He accused Dems of resorting to the "race issue" because they "don't have a single policy that they can win on." Ouch!

"They can’t win on tax cuts, they can’t win on the economy, they can’t win on inflation, they can’t win on anything. So it’s always play the race card," Moore stated. Bold words!

Majority Rules?

Moore emphasized that most Americans actually support voter ID laws. "Honestly, if you look at the polls... 85% of white America agrees with the SAVE Act. 82% of black Americans... 76% of Hispanics want IDs." He calls it an "80/20 issue," leaving us wondering how Dems can possibly defend their opposition.

"20 Million Ghost Voters"?

Moore didn't stop there! He questions the security of past elections, pointing to a discrepancy of millions of votes. "We got 139 million registered voters in America, and Biden got 81 million, and Trump got 74 million, so that’s 155 million votes. Where did the 20 million come from?" He argues the SAVE Act is crucial for ensuring only citizens are voting and eliminating those "ghost voters." Spooky!

Alabama AG Slams Dem Demands on ICE

Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall, who's also eyeing a U.S. Senate seat, is calling on Republicans in Congress to stand firm against what he sees as unreasonable Democratic demands regarding immigration enforcement.

The Funding Face-Off

Remember that whole "government shutdown" drama? It almost happened over funding for the Department of Homeland Security, particularly Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). President Trump signed a bill for a two-week reprieve, but the issue is far from settled.

Marshall's Take

Marshall didn't mince words on WVNN's "The Yaffee Program," stating that Republicans need to "govern with common sense and rationality" while Democrats continue to obstruct.

No Compromise!

He doubled down, urging Republicans to resist bending to the Democrats' will simply because they dislike ICE doing its job. "We need to make sure that we are supporting with funding the mission that ICE has in this country," Marshall declared.

What's the Fuss?

Democrat leaders are pushing for changes, including requiring ICE agents to ditch their masks and only use judicial warrants for arrests.

Why Marshall Says "No Way!"

Marshall explained that the existing system, using detainers, has worked for decades. Adding extra layers, like requiring court orders, would bog down the system and allow dangerous individuals to be released. He also believes the mask removal request is a thinly veiled attempt to "dox" and target ICE agents.

Tuberville vs. Irondale: A Clash of Wills

Senator Tommy Tuberville, fresh off his coaching glory days, predicts a frosty relationship with Irondale's mayor. The reason? The mayor's firm stance against helping federal agents with immigration matters.

Madison Students' ICE Protest: A Reality Check

Remember that proposed student walkout at two Madison high schools to protest ICE? Yeah, the school system shut that down quick. Schools are for learning, not blocking traffic with political stunts, right?

Compromise Reached, Sanity Prevails

Instead of a chaotic walkout, administrators allowed a supervised, after-school demo. Smart move! Kept classes on track and students safe. Win-win.

Don't Believe the Hype

But hold on – aldotcom is trying to spin this as some kind of victory for the students? Nope. This was a defeat for performative activism and a HUGE win for common sense. School rules and the grown-ups in charge still matter, folks!

The Voice of Reason

Dale Jackson, the brain behind Yellowhammer News and host of the WVNN talk show (weekdays, 5-9 a.m.), is keeping it real.

Alabama Senate Says "NOPE" to Child Predators!

Hold on to your hats, ChumCityzens! The Alabama Senate just dropped the hammer, passing HB41, the Child Predator Death Penalty Act, with a whopping 33-1 vote! Governor Kay Ivey is ready to sign it, making it officially official.

What's the Deal?

This bill allows prosecutors to seek the death penalty in cases of first-degree rape or sodomy against victims under 12. That's right, folks, Alabama is not messing around.

The Champions of the Cause

State Rep. Matt Simpson (R-Daphne) spearheaded the effort in the House, while State Sen. April Weaver (R-Brierfield) championed it in the Senate.

A Message from the Senate

Alabama Senate Pro Tem Garlan Gudger (R-Cullman) pulled no punches: "With passage of the Child Predator Death Penalty Act, we have notified those who prey upon the most defenseless Alabamians that they will be eligible for a non-stop trip straight to Hell departing from the death chamber at Holman prison!"

A Response to Horror

This bill comes in direct response to the disturbing case in Bibb County where authorities found a bunker used for child sexual abuse. It's a zero-tolerance stance!

Ivey's Strong Support

Governor Ivey has been a vocal supporter. During her State of the State address, she urged lawmakers to pass the bill ASAP. She wanted this one on her desk!

Protecting the Kiddos Online

So, what's this all about? Basically, it's a digital safety net for Alabama's youth. State Rep. Chris Sells (R-Greenville) championed the bill, which focuses on three key things: parental consent for app downloads, age verification on app stores, and age-appropriate ratings, kinda like what you see for movies.

Lawmakers Speak Up!

State Sen. Dan Roberts (R-Mountain Brook) called it an "incredible tool" to shield kids from digital dangers, highlighting the "horror stories" of children unknowingly getting into trouble online. State Sen. Clyde Chambliss (R-Prattville) added that it's about extending existing child protections into the digital realm, preventing young'uns from accepting contracts they don't understand.

A United Front

The concerns about social media's impact on kids were echoed by State Sen. April Weaver (R-Brierfield). And it wasn't just the Republicans on board! State Sen. Bobby Singleton (D-Greensboro) emphasized the need to protect children, highlighting bipartisan support for family safety. Seems like everyone agrees: protecting Alabama's kids is a top priority!
