Saban's New Game: From Sideline to Ice Rink!

Nick Saban promised he wouldn't be idle in retirement, and boy, was he serious! The legendary former Alabama coach is making a splash in the world of... hockey?!

A Predatory Move

That's right, Saban is trading touchdowns for slapshots, announcing a minority stake purchase in the Nashville Predators! He's joining forces with his longtime automobile business partner, Joe Agresti, through their Dream Sports Ventures LLC.

"A Competitive Nature"

Saban himself stated, "Although I am now retired as a coach, I still possess a competitive nature and a great passion for sports.” He added that getting involved with a Nashville sports team was a long-time goal, making the Predators a perfect fit.

Championship Dreams

Predators majority owner, Bill Haslam, is just as thrilled. He calls Saban "one of the all-time greats" and hopes his winning aura will help bring a Stanley Cup to Nashville. The Predators haven't snagged a title since joining the league in '98, though they came close in 2016.

From Cars to Cups?

Saban and Agresti, already a powerhouse duo in the auto industry, are now aiming to conquer the ice. Can Saban's magic touch translate from the gridiron to the rink? Nashville fans are certainly hoping so!

Decatur PD Busts Online Predators in "Home Alone" Sting!

The Decatur Police Department just wrapped up "Home Alone," a 10-day operation targeting creeps trying to hook up with minors online. And let us tell you, it was a HUGE success!

Undercover Action!

The department's Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit, with backup from other units, went undercover on social media, posing as minors. They reeled in suspects who thought they were chatting with kids.

The Trap is Sprung!

When these suspects showed up for in-person meetings (thinking they were about to commit unspeakable acts), BAM! They were met by law enforcement and cuffed.

More Than Just Meetings

During the investigation, officers uncovered a nasty case involving Jalen Nunn, who allegedly filmed a nude underage child. Warrants were served, and Nunn is now in custody. Good riddance!

The Numbers Don't Lie

By December 5th, SEVEN individuals were arrested and slapped with a total of 16 offenses. They're all chilling in the Morgan County Jail right now.

The Hunt Continues!

Investigators mentioned that some suspects didn't even show up for the planned meet-ups, but don't think you're off the hook, creeps! This operation is ongoing, and more charges could be coming.

A Word to Parents

Decatur PD wants parents to stay on top of their kids' online lives. Know who they're talking to and what they're looking at.

Safety First!

Talk to your kids about the dangers of sharing photos or personal info with strangers online, even if those strangers pretend to be other kids.

Sextortion Alert!

Law enforcement is also warning about a rise in sextortion cases, especially targeting young boys by offenders outside the U.S. Stay vigilant, folks!

Alabama's Construction Industry Backs Robertson for AG!

Big news for the 2026 Alabama Attorney General race! Katherine Robertson just snagged a major endorsement from the Associated Builders and Contractors of Alabama (ABC of Alabama).

Why ABC is Rooting for Robertson

According to ABC of Alabama Chairman Tim Harrison, Robertson's years of legal work fighting for contractors' rights is what sealed the deal. He emphasized her experience battling federal overreach and understanding the industry's challenges, like tough regulations and workforce gaps.

Robertson's Response: "A Real Honor"

Robertson, currently Chief Counsel to Attorney General Steve Marshall, expressed her gratitude, highlighting the importance of the Attorney General's office in protecting Alabama's economy, including its booming construction sector. She pointed to her work exposing the ESG movement and fighting regulatory burdens.

Fighting for Alabama Businesses

Robertson connects her deep understanding of the stakes to her rural Alabama roots and family ties to industries reliant on private property rights. She sees firsthand what happens when the federal government tries to dictate how Alabamians use their land and run their businesses.

Construction: A Vital Economic Engine

ABC notes that Alabama's construction sector is a powerhouse, supporting around 200,000 jobs and contributing roughly 5% to the state's economic output. Harrison added that Robertson's proven leadership makes her the right choice for the industry.

About Katherine Robertson

A Selma native, Robertson is an Auburn University and University of Alabama School of Law graduate. She lives in Birmingham with her husband and two children and is vying for the Republican nomination in the May 2026 primary.

College Football: Where Legends Begin (and Chicken is Fought Over!)

Fall means football in these parts, and that means passion, rivalries, and bonds both on and off the field. But sometimes, the most unlikely connections are formed in the trenches – or in this case, a cramped apartment fueled by cheap beer and even cheaper chicken.

Coach O and Senator Tuberville: A Bromance Forged in KFC

Turns out, former Ole Miss and Auburn head coach (now Senator) Tommy Tuberville and Coach O, Ed Orgeron, go way back! The unlikely duo shared some seriously scrappy times as graduate assistants.

The $20 Budget: Beer, Chicken, and White Meat Warfare

Coach O recently spilled the beans on the "Bussin' With The Boys" podcast, recounting a legendary tale of their GA days: weekly $20 stipends for travel turned into a feast of beer and a four-piece KFC.

"We allotted $2 for chicken and $18 for beer…" Orgeron shared with his signature Cajun drawl. Then came the real battle, "There was fighting over the white meat!" Apparently, Coach O secured the coveted white meat all season.

From GAs to Gridiron Gods

Both Coach O and Senator Tuberville have reached the pinnacle of their respective fields since those humble beginnings. It’s a wild reminder that even legends start somewhere – sometimes over a pile of discarded chicken bones and a case of bargain-basement beer. Who knows, maybe the next coaching superstar is currently battling over white meat somewhere!
