Hale County Man Makes a Splash (Literally!)

Hold onto your hats, folks, because things just got a little weird in Hale County! A local man is facing charges after allegedly taking a whiz on a police car. Yes, you read that right.

Highway 69 Hijinks

According to reports, Randal Marcus Deramus is accused of relieving himself on a Moundville Police Department patrol car last Thursday, December 30th. The cruiser was parked alongside Highway 69 when the alleged incident occurred.

Flowing Traffic, Flowing...Well, You Know

Can you imagine the look on people's faces? Apparently, cars were whizzing by (pun intended!) while this all went down. Talk about a roadside attraction!

Public Lewdness Charge

Deramus is now facing a charge of public lewdness. No mugshot has been released yet, but we're sure this story is going to keep circulating! Stay tuned for updates, ChumCity citizens!

Hilton's Border Security Blunder (and Quick Recovery!)

Okay, ChumCity fam, let's talk hotels. Word on the street was that a Hilton in Minnesota decided to give DHS/ICE employees the boot. Yikes!

Alabama Steps Up

But fear not! Our own Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall, along with some other heavy hitters, stepped in and said, "Hold up!" Guess what? Hilton heard the call and swiftly corrected the situation.

Credit Where Credit Is Due

We're quick to call out the bad guys (and rightfully so!), but let's give a shout-out when folks do the right thing. Good on you, Hilton, for setting things straight!

Tide Turns: Simpson Declares for NFL Draft!

Alabama's QB situation just got a whole lot more interesting! Ty Simpson has announced he's headed to the NFL Draft after a wild 2025 season. Simpson posted a heartfelt goodbye on Instagram, thanking Alabama for the memories.

While some Tide fans hoped to see him back in 2026, this opens the door for Coach DeBoer to usher in a new era.

The Race is On: Who Will Be QB1?

DeBoer finally gets to handpick his signal-caller, and the battle for QB1 is already heating up! Two names are dominating the conversation: Austin Mack and Keelon Russell.

Mack's Advantage?

Mack, who followed DeBoer from Washington, seems to have a slight edge. He knows the system inside and out, and even saw significant action in the Rose Bowl after Simpson's injury.

Russell's Untapped Potential

But don't count out Russell! This five-star phenom boasts a sky-high ceiling. Despite being third-string this year, his raw talent could propel him to the top spot.

A Spring Showdown in Tuscaloosa

While Jett Thomalla and Tayden Kaawa could make a run, it's looking like a Mack vs. Russell showdown for the starting quarterback gig. Get ready for an exciting spring as these two gunslingers battle for the keys to DeBoer's offense!

Crazy Finish in Auburn-Texas A&M Game!

Hold onto your hats, ChumCity readers, because the Auburn-Texas A&M men's basketball game was an absolute rollercoaster! The final score? A nail-biting 90-88 victory for the Aggies, but the road to that finish was paved with drama.

A Tale of Two Halves

After a tight first half, Auburn seemed to be pulling away, building a 16-point lead. But then, BAM! Texas A&M unleashed "Bucky Ball," an aggressive, turnover-forcing style of play, going on an insane 33-6 run to snatch the lead.

Last-Second Chaos

The final minutes were pure chaos. Down 90-88 with just 0.6 seconds on the clock, Auburn inbounded the ball to KeShawn Murphy, who launched a prayer. It went in! Pandemonium erupted! But wait...

Review Reverses the Miracle

The refs went to the monitor. After what felt like an eternity, the call came down: No good. The clock had expired. Texas A&M escaped with a 90-88 win, silencing "The Jungle."

Bucky Ball Comes to Town

So, what's "Bucky Ball" all about? It's the brainchild of Texas A&M's first-year coach, Bucky McMillan, Jr. It's a high-pressure, fast-paced style that brought him success in high school and at Samford University. Now, it's causing headaches in the SEC. McMillan's Aggies just handed Steven Pearl and the Auburn Tigers a tough loss, sending them to their second straight SEC defeat. Can they bounce back against #15 Arkansas this Saturday? Stay tuned, ChumCity!

Tuberville Doubles Down on National Guard Idea for Montgomery

Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) isn't backing down. If he becomes Alabama's next governor, he's still considering deploying the National Guard to tackle crime in Montgomery. Remember that comment he made last September about using the Guard if necessary? Yep, he stands by it.

Reed's PAC Fires Back

Montgomery Mayor Steven Reed's PAC isn't thrilled, to say the least. They recently blasted out a fundraising text highlighting Tuberville's past statements. The text accused Tuberville of sticking with the "DC political machine" and criticized his threat to unleash the National Guard on Montgomery, while also opposing the city's improvement efforts. Ouch!

"Things Are Getting Worse"

In a recent chat with reporters, Tuberville argued that Montgomery's crime situation hasn't improved. "No, it seems to be getting worse," he said, pointing to a recent shooting. He even suggested Democrats are "pro crime," which is a pretty strong statement.

Safe Streets or Bust!

Tuberville is adamant about getting crime under control, even if it means calling in the National Guard. He pledged to support local law enforcement and sheriff's departments, emphasizing the need for safe streets to attract new businesses and prevent people from leaving the state. "We have to have safe streets and safe neighborhoods," he stated.

Is It Enough?

While the Montgomery Area Crime Suppression (MACS) Unit has made some progress, the city still faces significant challenges, including the recent mass shooting downtown. So, will Tuberville's tough-on-crime stance resonate with voters? Time will tell, folks.
