New Mayor Elect in Alexander City!

Get ready for a change, Alex City! Mike Densmore is set to be the new Mayor, winning Tuesday's runoff election by a close 58 votes against incumbent Woody Baird. Densmore snagged 1,610 votes to Baird’s 1,552 (unofficial results, of course!).

Fresh Faces on the City Council Too!

Densmore won't be alone shaking things up at City Hall. Kelly Waldrop is heading to the City Council for District 4 after a solid win over Frank Tapley with 60% of the vote. And Mike Lucas clinched the District 6 seat with 53% of the vote. Exciting times!

Who is Mike Densmore?

Densmore is a familiar face in Alexander City, a businessman, and a longtime pastor. This Benjamin Russell High School grad brings 30 years of corporate leadership from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. plus over four decades of local ministry experience to the table.

Densmore's Vision for Alex City

"As mayor, I will listen to the people of Alex City, and I will represent their interests," Densmore stated during his campaign. He sees his diverse background as providing a unique perspective for moving the city forward.

A Man with Roots in Alex City

A proud Alexander City native, Densmore holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from Auburn University, where he was also a football and wrestling athlete. Before Goodyear, he taught and coached in Gadsden City Schools. He's also been heavily involved in the community, chairing boards like the Russell Medical Foundation Strategic Planning Committee, the Chamber of Commerce, and the United Way.

Looking Ahead

Densmore is ready to honor the support he received. “This is a new day for our community," he shared on election night. "Let’s leave the rear-view mirror behind and look forward together with faith, hope, and love for Alexander City. I’m excited about what we will accomplish side by side!"

It's About Alex City's Future!

“This campaign was not about me. It was about Alex City’s future," Densmore emphasized. He's focused on boosting education, driving economic growth, investing in infrastructure, and enhancing the quality of life for all citizens.

Fighting for Alabama: From the Fields to the Senate

Hey ChumCity crew! I'm Jared Hudson, and I'm running for U.S. Senate in 2026. My life has been about service: Navy SEAL, law enforcement, small business owner, and fighting human trafficking with Covenant Rescue Group. Each role taught me about fighting for others, owning responsibility, and leading the charge. Now, I want to be YOUR voice in Washington.

Rooted in Alabama Soil

My commitment comes from my roots. Growing up in rural Etowah County, I was surrounded by farming. My granddad and uncle still work the land, and I have memories of helping (or trying to!) I drove a tractor, planted, shucked, strung, and sold! Those days taught me that farming is tough, but it carries the weight of feeding families.

More Than Just an Issue

Agriculture isn’t just an "issue" for me. It’s family. It’s community. It’s Alabama’s HEARTBEAT.

Standing Shoulder-to-Shoulder

Like in the SEALs or law enforcement, when the mission matters, you fight for those beside you. Our farmers deserve that same commitment. No empty promises from career politicians! They need a WARRIOR in Washington who'll stand firm and fight daily.

Building on a Legacy

We've been lucky to have Coach Tuberville in the gap for Alabama's farmers. He's taken the heat and fought the battles. I’ll carry that mission forward on the Senate Agriculture Committee, making sure Alabama's farmers are HEARD, swamp or no swamp.

Freedom to Farm

Washington often gets in the way of folks just trying to feed the country. Instead of clearing a path, they pile on paperwork and rules from folks who've never seen a farm. Farmers need freedom to produce food, raise livestock, and keep rural communities alive, WITHOUT Washington second-guessing every move.

A Farm Bill That Works

I hear it everywhere: Congress needs to pass a STRONG farm bill, and ON TIME. Kicking the can with short-term extensions leaves producers guessing. Farming's hard enough! A good bill provides stability and support for rural communities.

Alabama: An Agricultural Powerhouse

Alabama's already a powerhouse! Poultry, peanuts, row crops, cattle, catfish, and timber – the strength of our land and people is undeniable. With the RIGHT support, we can keep growing.

Listening and Learning

I won’t pretend to know every challenge you face. But I'll listen more than I talk and keep the door open to the people who live this work. Alabama's farmers have carried this state for generations. Let me carry that fight for you in Washington, not as a politician, but as your warrior for Alabama agriculture!

Let’s do this, ChumCity!

Sylacauga Gets a New Mayor!

Well folks, the race was neck and neck, down to the wire! Sylacauga has spoken, and former schoolteacher, administrator, and coach Dr. Matt Hubbard is your new Mayor! He edged out local Pastor Bryan Taunton by a nail-biting 46 votes.

The Numbers

Hubbard snagged 1,137 votes, while Taunton tallied 1,091. That's roughly 51% to 49%! No word yet on outstanding provisional ballots, but it looks like the decision is made.

Council Shake-Up

In other election news, there's a new face in City Council District 4. Tim Vincent ousted incumbent Lee Perryman by a significant margin: 386 to 178. Looks like the voters wanted a change!

Change is Coming

Remember incumbent Mayor Jim Heigl? He gave it a shot in the August election but didn't make the runoff.

Mark your calendars, folks! The new Mayor will be sworn in on Monday, November 3.

A Man of Many Hats

Hubbard's coming into office after a whopping 32 years in Alabama public education. He's been everything from a science teacher and coach to assistant principal, principal at Sylacauga High, and even executive director of supporting programs. Talk about experience!

A Nation Mourns: Remembering Charlie Kirk

Like so many across the country, my family and I are still reeling from the horrific assassination of Charlie Kirk. Only 31, Charlie was a rising star, a powerful voice for conservative values. But more than that, he was a devoted Christian, a loving husband, and a dedicated father.

Trump's Words Echo Our Loss

President Trump captured the sentiment perfectly: "Charlie was the best of America... an assassin tried to silence him, but failed because his voice, his message, and his legacy will live on."

A Calculated Political Hit

Let's be clear: this was a political assassination. The shooter targeted Charlie because he was a prominent conservative voice, effectively challenging the left's narratives on crime, gender ideology, abortion, and more. Reports suggest the shooter was motivated by Charlie's stance on transgenderism, fueled by outrage against what he perceived as "hate."

"Preventing Hate" With Violence

Think about that: a left-wing activist took the life of a God-fearing man, a husband, and a father, all because he dared to disagree with progressive dogma. This is the reality of today's political climate.

The Left's Deflection Tactics

Senator Schumer rushed to tell us not to "point fingers." Jimmy Kimmel even tried to link the shooter to "MAGA." Nonsense. They're on the defensive, trying to deflect from the hateful rhetoric they've spewed for years.

Decades of Divisive Language

From Obama's "bitter" comments about conservatives clinging to "guns or religion," to the constant accusations of "fascism" and "Nazism," Democrats have painted conservatives as enemies of the state. Is it any wonder that some take this rhetoric to heart and act on it?

Violence: A Progressive Staple

Violence has been a part of progressive politics for decades. From the Weather Underground to Saul Alinsky, incitement and resentment have long been used as tools. Liberal politicians and media often endorse or excuse this behavior.

Ferguson to Kavanaugh: A Pattern of Violence

Remember Obama's "understandable" comments about the Ferguson riots? Schumer and Kimmel are doing the same thing now – trying to distract us from the obvious.

A Disturbing List of Attacks

  • The attempted assassination of Congressman Scalise.
  • Antifa's "fiery but mostly peaceful" riots.
  • The attempt on Justice Kavanaugh's life.
  • The murder of border patrol agents by left-wing cultists.
  • Two attempts on President Trump.
  • The massacre of children in Tennessee and Minnesota by transgender ideologues.
  • And now, the assassination of Charlie Kirk.

Domestic Terror: Recognizing the Threat

These are acts of domestic terror. President Trump has recognized this, rightfully designating Antifa as a terrorist organization.

A Promise to Protect

As your Attorney General, I pledge to work with the federal government and use state resources to protect Alabamians from violent radicals. The time for excuses is over.

Rejecting Violence, Ensuring Freedom

We are witnessing a breakdown of civil society, and I won't tolerate it. We must reject violent political philosophies and ensure safety and freedom for all.

Jay Mitchell, Former Associate Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court and 2026 Republican candidate for Alabama Attorney General.

Bruce Pearl's Next Play: Politics?

With Bruce Pearl passing the Auburn basketball torch to his son, the burning question is: What's next for the legendary coach? Could a political career be in the cards?

The Possibilities

  • U.S. Senate seat?
  • Governor of Alabama?
  • Lieutenant Governor perhaps?
  • A run for Congress?
  • Maybe even a Presidential appointment?

Food for Thought

Dale Jackson, the insightful voice from Yellowhammer News and host of the 5-9 a.m. talk show on WVNN, is sure to have some thoughts on this developing story!

Ainsworth Backs Beeker for Public Service Commission

Lt. Governor Will Ainsworth is throwing his weight behind Public Service Commissioner Chris Beeker! Ainsworth endorsed Beeker for a full term, painting the 2026 race as a pivotal moment for Alabama's future.

A Conservative Choice

Ainsworth emphasized the choice: continue with strong, conservative leadership or succumb to "Biden-era energy mandates" and federal overreach. He stated, "Chris Beeker is the proven conservative leader that we need," highlighting Beeker's commitment to affordable energy and his fight against radical environmental agendas.

Next-Gen Leadership

Ainsworth praised Beeker as a "young and energetic" leader, representing the next generation of conservative public servants dedicated to elevating Alabama. He emphasized Beeker's background as a cattle and catfish farmer, underscoring the importance of grit, hard work, and tenacity.

Trump's Approval

Ainsworth also noted Beeker's previous role as USDA Alabama Rural Development Director under President Trump, signaling a "MAGA seal of approval." Ainsworth affirmed, "I'm standing with Chris Beeker because he is using his seat on the Public Service Commission to stand tall for all of us."

Beeker's Background

Beeker was appointed last year, filling the seat previously held by his father, Chris "Chip" Beeker Jr. Before joining the PSC, he directed USDA Rural Development for Alabama, focusing on rural water, broadband, housing, and infrastructure projects. He's already gaining momentum for his 2026 campaign, including an endorsement from the Electric Cooperatives of Alabama PAC.

Alabama GOP Sweeps Municipal Runoffs!

The Alabama Republican Party is popping bottles after a clean sweep in this week's municipal runoff elections! Their new municipal program proved to be a game-changer, backing winners across the board.

Mobile Goes Red!

The biggest splash? Mobile, where Republican Spiro Cheriogotis, a former district judge, ousted long-time Democrat State Representative Barbara Drummond. Talk about a victory – Drummond had endorsements from big names like VP Kamala Harris and Senator Raphael Warnock!

"The Alabama Republican Party was proud to stand behind our conservative candidates in these municipal runoffs," beamed ALGOP Chair John Wahl. "Voters deserved to know where everyone stood. We're not shy about fighting for good policy and strong conservative principles – from DC to your local City Hall!"

A Winning Strategy

The Party didn't just sit back and hope. They launched a full-on municipal program, arming candidates with targeted resources: direct mail, grassroots power, text message blitzes, and digital ads galore. This program marks a bold move to fight back against Democrats who've been trying to snag ground in "nonpartisan" elections.

Taking Back the Cities

"Historically, we haven't been as engaged in these local races, but that's changing," Wahl explained. "I believe the Party has to defend our conservative candidates at every level."

More Wins!

It wasn't just Mobile. Guntersville saw Republican Leigh Dollar secure a solid victory over a former Democrat State Rep. And in Hoover, both Republican City Council candidates, who advanced to the runoffs, crushed it on Tuesday!

"Democrats have been trying to slip their agenda into city governments using these nonpartisan elections," Wahl argued. "They back their candidates, then whine when we do the same. Well, we're sending a clear message: we'll stand with our conservative candidates, and we won't let Democrats take over our communities!"

Auburn Heads to Kyle Field for Huge SEC Showdown

The Auburn Tigers are looking to bounce back this week after a tough loss to Oklahoma. While hanging tough with a ranked team on the road was a positive, they face an even bigger challenge in College Station against a red-hot Texas A&M squad.

Aggies a Tough Test

Playing at Kyle Field is always a brutal road environment in the SEC. But this year, the Aggies are also looking legit under Coach Elko.

A&M Riding High

Texas A&M is coming off a bye week after a huge road win against Notre Dame. Their defense was already solid, but now their offense, led by Marcel Reed, is humming too. They're ranked No. 9 and this game is a chance to prove they're for real.

A Test of Character for the Tigers

For Auburn, this game is about more than just football. It's a test of character. How will they respond to adversity after a loss and show their mettle against a team they're capable of beating?

Can Arnold Handle the Pressure?

Last week, Jackson Arnold was sacked 10 times! Will he be rattled by the Kyle Field crowd, or will he make quick decisions and get the ball to his playmakers?

Embrace the Noise or Wilt?

Will the Tigers crumble under the pressure, or will they embrace the environment and snag a huge road win before their bye week and upcoming game against Georgia?

Season-Defining Game

This game could define Auburn's season. A road win against a top SEC team would set them up perfectly for a lighter stretch after Georgia. Another loss, however, would put them in a tough spot before October even arrives.

A Statement Win Opportunity

It would be Auburn's first win at Kyle Field since 2019. But beyond just beating the Aggies on their home turf, a win here would send a message that this Auburn team is the real deal!

This one should be a classic in College Station!

Tide vs. Dawgs: A Gridiron Clash!

Get ready for a Saturday night showdown! The Alabama Crimson Tide rolls into Sanford Stadium to face the Georgia Bulldogs. This is the first time these two powerhouses have battled in Athens in a decade, so you know the atmosphere will be electric!

Simpson's Big Test

This game is a huge road test for Alabama, especially for their quarterback, Ty Simpson. After a rocky start against Florida State, Simpson's coming off two incredible performances. But can he keep the momentum going against the Dawgs? The Tide is counting on him to deliver!

Smart's High Praise

Don't think Georgia head coach Kirby Smart hasn't noticed Simpson's recent surge. He's been showering the young QB with praise!

Smart Says...

"Ty is different than Jalen Milroe," Smart noted, acknowledging the change at QB for Alabama. "But [Ty] is a really good athlete, he's a tremendous athlete...he has 60, 70, 80 yard runs outrunning good defenses."

But Smart didn't stop there. He declared, "I would say he's probably the hottest quarterback right now in all of college football! His two last outings, I don't know that I've seen an incompletion. Like the ball does not hit the ground!"

The Stats Don't Lie

Simpson's recent numbers are insane! He went 17 for 17 against ULM for 226 yards and three touchdowns. Then, against Wisconsin, he went 24 of 29 with 382 yards and four touchdowns.

Can Simpson Keep the Heat On?

Alabama needs Simpson to bring his A-game to Athens if they want to pull off a massive upset. Can he handle the pressure? We'll find out Saturday night!

Moore Blames Left-Wing Rhetoric for ICE Facility Shooting

U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) is speaking out, linking what he calls "extreme rhetoric from the left-wing" to instances of political violence, including the recent shooting at an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Dallas.

The Dallas Incident

Authorities identified 29-year-old Joshua Jahn as the suspect in Wednesday morning's attack, where two detainees tragically lost their lives before Jahn turned the gun on himself. According to reports, the rounds used were engraved with an "anti-ICE" message.

Moore's Response

Moore, a 2026 U.S. Senate hopeful, shared his reaction to the attack on "The Yaffee Program" on WVNN. "Well, I think it's a continued escalation of violence by the left, it seems like, in this country," Moore stated. "And it starts with rhetoric, as it always does, and then you start seeing them push back against the authority." He emphasized that ICE was simply "trying to do their jobs," suggesting they were working to remove dangerous individuals, including TDA and MS-13 members, who are in the country illegally.

A Pattern of Violence?

Moore asserted that most recent political violence has been directed at conservatives. He argued, "As a society, it seems like the left continues to move towards violence, and the anti-gun crowd are always the ones with the guns shooting at the conservatives." He also underscored the importance of supporting law enforcement, who, he feels, are tasked with cleaning up the "mess" created by Joe Biden's border policies.

Call for Action

Moore urged listeners to "stand for law and order" and prevent further chaos. He also called on conservatives to remain bold and defend their beliefs, framing the issue as "a spiritual battle for the future of our country" against "absolutely evil" forces. He believes condemning such violence and understanding the nature of the conflict are crucial steps forward.
