Hold on to your hats, ChumCity citizens! Rep. Gary Palmer (R-Hoover) isn't seeing any sunshine breaking through this government shutdown anytime soon. He's pointing fingers squarely at the Democratic Party, claiming their current state is to blame for the ongoing stalemate. Palmer dropped some truth bombs during an appearance on WVNN's "The Yaffee Program." He alleges that a "small minority of radical people" are pulling the strings within the Democratic Party. According to Palmer, groups with ties to Democratic Socialists and even the Communist Party are influencing the Democrats' moves, allegedly funded by figures like George Soros. Whoa! But wait, there's more! Palmer also highlights a potential national security threat lurking beneath the shutdown drama. He warns about our country's overwhelming dependence on China for processed rare earth elements – crucial for everything from fighter jets to your microwave. Without them, our economy could be in serious trouble, and Palmer notes that the Dems' shutdown is preventing measures to address this issue. Palmer also believes the Democrats' agenda is driven by a desire to expand Obamacare and steer the U.S. toward a socialist healthcare system, and that they want a single-payer healthcare plan like Britain and Canada's. He argues that this could lead to long waits for critical diagnostic tests and higher mortality rates for diseases like breast and prostate cancer.Shutdown Showdown: Palmer Blasts Dems!

Hold your horses, ChumCity! BeefPAC, the political muscle behind the Alabama Cattlemen's Association, just announced they're throwin' their support behind Derek Chen for State Auditor. Chen, a Vestavia Hills attorney, threw his hat in the ring back in April, promising to "restore trust" and make sure our tax dollars are handled with care. Erin Beasley, top dog at the Alabama Cattlemen's Association, says Chen's got the right stuff. "Derek Chen has shown a strong commitment to good government and accountability, values that matter to Alabama’s cattle producers," she declared, adding that he'll bring "integrity and diligence" to the job. The cattle industry is a HUGE deal here, pumping over $2.5 billion into Alabama's economy annually and keeping folks employed in rural areas. "I’m honored to have the support of Alabama’s cattlemen," Chen responded. He praised the hard work and honesty of those in the industry and pledged to bring that same dedication to state government. This guy's got credentials! Degrees from Hope College, Cumberland School of Law, and the University of Alabama. He's practiced law in Jefferson County and is a vocal supporter of President Trump. Chen is the son of immigrants from Taiwan, who escaped Communist China. He says their story fuels his belief in freedom, accountability, and good governance. Just a note: The Alabama Cattlemen's Association doesn't endorse candidates directly; that's BeefPAC's job!BeefPAC Backs Chen for State Auditor!

The Supreme Court's new term is underway, and it's already making headlines. We're talking landmark cases tackling everything from sports regulations to executive power. But the real shocker? What happened before the first gavel even dropped. Traditionally, Justices attend the Red Mass, a prayer service for the Court. This year? A no-show. Turns out, serious security concerns were brewing. Police discovered a man outside the church with a stockpile of explosives and a manifesto brimming with hate for Catholics, Jewish people, SCOTUS, and ICE. Yikes! This attempted attack feels like the latest in a string of disturbing actions, a worrying trend of violence aimed at silencing dissent and now, targeting the Supreme Court itself. Sadly, this isn't new. Remember the attempted assassination of Justice Kavanaugh? Or the bomb threat against Justice Barrett's sister? And conservative Justices like Thomas and Alito face constant security risks. The attempted Kavanaugh assassin? Got a shockingly light sentence. What message does that send? We need to protect our judiciary! Alabama knows this threat firsthand. Years ago, a federal judge was murdered by a bomb in the mail. These attacks are a direct assault on justice itself. As a former Alabama Supreme Court Justice, I know the critical importance of judicial safety. Judges need courage to make tough calls, but fear shouldn't be part of the equation. As Alabama's next Attorney General, I will prioritize the safety and independence of our judges. Anyone threatening them will face the full force of the law. The rule of law must prevail! We won't tolerate political extremism and threats to our society's foundation. If these characters try to stir up trouble in Alabama, they'll face swift justice. We're not playing games. Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall is giving major props to President Trump for his tough stance against those nasty drug cartels! Marshall, who's also eyeing a U.S. Senate seat in '26, has joined a coalition of 16 states backing the Trump admin's smackdown on cartel drug boats. “We're at a critical moment where we need bold moves to stop the non-stop flood of illegal drugs brought in by these dangerous cartels," Marshall declared. "President Trump's dedication to protecting Americans means strength and ultimately, peace!†The attorneys general pointed out some scary stats in a letter to Trump and Secretary of War Pete Hegseth. In FY 2024, Customs and Border Protection seized almost 22,000 pounds of fentanyl smuggled in by cartels – enough to take out the ENTIRE U.S. population fourteen times over! The number of Americans lost to fentanyl is now, sadly, comparable to the total U.S. casualties in World War II. Marshall is convinced that this illegal drug invasion is fueling violent crime, putting our law enforcement and communities at serious risk, and overwhelming our public health system. He believes the President is totally within his rights as Commander in Chief to protect the U.S. and its citizens. “I'm incredibly proud of the President for taking a firm stand and going after cartel operations," Marshall stated. "This is precisely the kind of strategic action our country needs.†Drug trafficking is running wild in gang activity, human trafficking, and retail crime, and it's making life much harder for law enforcement everywhere. This wave of illegal drugs is also making our health crisis even worse, with addiction, overdoses, and the spread of diseases going up. Alabama is not alone, with Georgia leading the charge, joined by attorneys general from Arkansas, Florida, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Montana, North Dakota, Ohio, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, and West Virginia.Alabama AG Applauds Trump's Anti-Cartel Moves!

Auburn's Coach Hugh Freeze might be feeling the heat. A rough start and a less-than-stellar SEC record (5-15!) have folks wondering if his seat is getting a little too toasty. He's pleading for time to turn the program around. Will he get it? Sweet relief at the pump! National gas prices have dipped below $3 a gallon for the first time in ages. Drivers and businesses are rejoicing, and you know who else is? Hint: He used to live in the White House. New research suggests putting those cell phones away in school might be a good idea. A recent study indicates that banning phones improves test scores and grades. Maybe it's time to ditch the distractions and boost those brains! Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall is feeling optimistic about the state's redistricting case after arguments before the Supreme Court. He believes things are looking good for the current map and the GOP's overall redistricting strategy. Things got a little weird in Fairhope. A "No Kings" demonstrator rocking a, shall we say, unique outfit (think anatomical correctness) was arrested. Some folks are up in arms, believing public displays of that nature are acceptable. U.S. Rep. Gary Palmer and U.S. Sen. Katie Britt are not holding back when it comes to criticizing the Democratic Party. Palmer accuses a radical minority of pushing the party towards the fringes, while Britt is urging Democrats to end the shutdown drama and reopen the government. Gov. Kay Ivey, Montgomery Mayor Steven Reed, and Police Chief Jim Graboys are furious about the bond release of a teen charged in the Montgomery mass shooting. They're calling it a slap in the face and pushing to expand Aniah's Law.What's Buzzing Around Alabama?
