Wiregrass Woman's Bahamas "Hit" Trial Delayed...Again!

Hold up, ChumCity! That wild story about the former Dothan beauty queen, Lindsay Shiver, and an alleged murder-for-hire plot in the Bahamas? Well, buckle up, because the trial's been pushed back yet again.

Looks like Shiver, along with co-defendants Terrence Bethel and Faron Newbold Jr., won't be facing a judge in Nassau until March 2, 2026. Yep, 2026! The trial was originally slated for August 2025, but poof, it's gone. No explanation given, naturally.

Living the High Life (Sort Of)

Shiver is still chillin' with her family back in the Wiregrass on bond. She can even pop over to Georgia to see her kiddos. Bethel and Newbold Jr. are also out on bond.

"Kill Him"?

Remember, these three were cuffed back in July 2023 after some Bahamian detectives allegedly found WhatsApp messages linking them to a plan to off Shiver’s hubby, Robert. Apparently, the smoking gun was pics of Robert and the oh-so-subtle message, "Kill him."

The messages turned up during a totally unrelated break-in investigation. Go figure!

Drama, Drama, Drama!

Things got even crazier when Shiver and Bethel briefly found themselves back behind bars after a judge said their appearances on Good Morning America and Inside Edition were a no-no because they violated pre-trial publicity rules.

Luckily, bail was reinstated. During the GMA gig, Bethel swore they were innocent and said the whole thing was blown way out of proportion.

The Saga Continues

This case has been a media circus from day one. Even though it's been almost two years since the arrests, Shiver and her co-defendants are sticking to their story: they're innocent! Looks like we'll have to wait a while longer to see how this one ends.

Headed by State Rep. Joe Lovvorn (R-Auburn), the House Rules Committee holds the keys to the House floor. They decide which bills get debated, when, and how. This is a huge deal!

This appointment adds to Lomax's existing committee assignments, which include Economic Development & Tourism, Financial Services, Ethics & Campaign Finance, Ports, Waterways & Intermodal Transit, and the Madison County Legislation committee.
