Yellowhammer State Scores Another One for the GOP!

The Alabama Republican Party just welcomed a fresh face – and it's a familiar one! Clarke County License Commissioner Linda Goodman is officially trading in her Donkey pin for an Elephant one, folks. She got the official thumbs-up at a recent Clarke County Republican Executive Committee shindig.

Top Notch Public Servant

“Linda's been a stellar License Commissioner, going the extra mile for her people," exclaimed Clarke County Republican Party Chair Summer Padget. "We're thrilled to have her on board!”

Why the Switch?

Goodman, a 22-year veteran of her role, says the Democratic Party ain't what it used to be. She told local GOP bigwigs that their values have taken a detour, leaving her principles behind.

ALGOP Chairman Chimes In

ALGOP Chairman John Wahl is pumped about Goodman's decision, saying the modern Democratic Party is increasingly out of sync with Alabama voters.

Standing Firm

“The Democrat Party has lost touch with working families by abandoning traditional Alabama values,” Wahl stated. “The Alabama Republican Party will always champion individual rights, parental rights, safe communities, and a thriving future. I'm eager to welcome Linda to the Republican family."

GOP on the Rise

The ALGOP has been actively involved in local races, rolling out resources to support candidates. With Goodman's arrival, the Republicans are further solidifying their dominance in Alabama. They currently hold over 73% of all partisan elected positions at the federal, state, and county levels. Go, team!

Left-Wingers Justifying Violence? You Be the Judge!

Heads up, ChumCity citizens! Ever notice how some folks on the left are quick to downplay the violence we're seeing, claiming the real threat comes from the right?

A Convenient Justification

It's like clockwork. Whether it's supposed outrage over something Charlie Kirk said or the actions of a border agent, they always seem to find a way to excuse their own side's behavior.

Give Us Power, They Say...

These masterminds will have you believe the mayhem will magically disappear the second they're in charge and everyone agrees with them. Sound familiar?

Listen Up!

Here's the thing: they actually believe this. And they're finally admitting it. So, what do you think, ChumCity? Time to take them at their word?

Tide Fans Get Primetime Vols Showdown!

Big news, ChumCity! The Alabama Crimson Tide's epic Third Saturday in October clash against Tennessee is set for primetime! After some grumbling about the early Missouri game, Tide fans can rejoice knowing the Vols will face the Bryant-Denny roar under the lights. Kickoff is at 6:30 p.m. CST!

Revenge is Brewing in Tuscaloosa

This is Bama's second chance this season to avenge a loss from last year. Remember that heartbreaker in Knoxville? But on our turf, it's been a Tennessee drought of over two decades! Their last win in Tuscaloosa? Way back in 2003!

Stakes are High for DeBoer

After a dominant 15-game win streak against the Volunteers, the Tide have dropped two of the last three. A win at home would be HUGE for this year's squad and Kalen DeBoer's tenure.

Our new head coach is hungry for that sweet, smoky victory cigar. With Tennessee coming to town under the lights, the pressure cooker is ON! Get ready for a wild one, ChumCity!

Tide Roll On, But Missouri Looms!

The Crimson Tide took care of business over the weekend, pulling away from Vanderbilt for a solid win. They're building momentum impressively since that opening loss to Florida State. After crushing Georgia on the road last week, Alabama didn't repeat past mistakes, coming into the Vandy game hungry.

Early Kickoff, Big Test

This week, though, it's a different beast. A ranked Missouri squad, boasting a seriously mobile QB, awaits. And it's an 110 a.m. CST kickoff – notoriously tough on the road.

Trap Game? Maybe Not, But…

While Missouri's undefeated record and high ranking (around No. 14!) likely prevent this from being a classic "trap game," it's a massive challenge against a team that, let's be honest, Alabama is far more talented than.

Early Birds and the Tide

Getting a team fired up for an 11 a.m. game is never easy, especially away from home. Last year, Kalen DeBoer aced this with a blowout win against Wisconsin, but this matchup is different.

Pribula: A Dual-Threat Nightmare?

Missouri's QB, Beau Pribula, is electric. Even though they haven't faced a true test yet, Pribula’s looked dominant with both his arm and legs. Plus, Ahmad Hardy is a top-tier running back who could cause serious headaches for the Tide defense.

Measuring Stick Time

If DeBoer can lead his team into a hostile environment – despite the early kickoff – and snag another win against a very good team, it'll say wonders about the progress this team's made since the Seminoles defeat.

Columbia Countdown

Nothing about this game will be a cakewalk. It's another critical test to gauge the strides this team has made. Get ready for an awesome showdown in Columbia this weekend!

Tide Gets Unexpected GameDay Spotlight

Hold the phone! Did anyone have Alabama in the running for a College GameDay location this season? Turns out, the Crimson Tide were THE spot this past weekend for their rematch against Vanderbilt. Remember last year's stunner?

Vandy's Rise Adds Fuel to the Fire

Vanderbilt's hot start this season flipped the script. What used to be a guaranteed win suddenly had major implications. Then they announced comedian Theo Von as the guest picker – a buddy of Vandy's QB, Diego Pavia. Some folks weren't thrilled, to say the least!

Theo Von's Tuscaloosa Take

But get this: Despite repping Vanderbilt hard, Von apparently loved his time in Tuscaloosa. He had nothing but praise for the University of Alabama.

"Alabama, It Is Amazing"

"Alabama, it is amazing," Von said, gushing about the campus vibe. "Just the attire when you're pulling up on campus...people walking in their. This is their Saturday best to a T. That was one of the most picturesque things I've ever been a part of to be honest with you."

He continued, "It was the most welcoming...it was exceptional, just the treatment, it was all perfect...they're protecting something there that means something to them, and they show up and you feel that. I felt like a visitor, and I felt like the most welcomed visitor that could be there."

Alabama Headlines You Need to Know!

Britt Sounds Alarm on AI Sextortion

Senator Katie Britt is raising the red flag about a massive spike – we're talking a 1,325% increase – in AI-fueled financial sextortion targeting teenage boys! She's urging law enforcement, tech giants, and Congress to team up and protect our kids from these online creeps.

Miller Praises Dothan's "Friendly" Reception

Stephen Miller, a former advisor to President Trump, called out Dothan as a place where federal officers (think National Guard) would be welcomed, unlike those "crime-ridden" blue cities like Portland, Los Angeles, and Chicago. Ouch!

Texas Guard Arrives in Illinois Amidst Heated Rhetoric

Two hundred Texas National Guard troops have rolled into Illinois for a 60-day stint, tasked with protecting federal personnel and ICE facilities from potential anti-immigration unrest. Meanwhile, Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson and Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker are stirring the pot, suggesting America's headed for civil war, comparing the feds to Nazi Germany. Yikes!

Tuberville Talks Finebaum Senate Run

Senator Tommy Tuberville, fresh off coaching championships (and being a Senator), is still buzzing about Paul Finebaum's potential run for Alabama Senate in 2026. He acknowledges Finebaum's massive name recognition but emphasizes the importance of having clear political beliefs to win over voters.

Sheriff's Halloween Display Sparks Controversy

Mobile County Sheriff Paul Burch is facing some serious social media heat for his Halloween display. It features skeletons in sombreros being chased by figures labeled "ICE." Critics, including one particularly vocal neighbor, are calling it dehumanizing to immigrants.

Montgomery Shooting Investigation Stalls

No arrests have been made yet in the mass shooting that rocked Montgomery last Saturday. Two people died, and a dozen more were injured, including several kids. Mayor Steven Reed turned down calls for the National Guard, instead blaming Alabama's constitutional carry laws.

Ivey Cracks Down on Montgomery Crime

Governor Kay Ivey is taking a hard line on crime in downtown Montgomery. She's ordered an expanded ALEA trooper presence, legislative support, a zero-tolerance policy, and an ABC review of alcohol sales. She highlighted the Montgomery Area Crime Suppression Unit's successes, noting thousands of stops, hundreds of arrests, and the seizure of numerous weapons and vehicles since June.

Huntingdon College Celebrates a New Chapter!

Montgomery's own Huntingdon College threw one heck of a party on Friday, October 3rd, marking the official investiture of its 15th president, Dr. Anthony Leigh! The college's historic grounds buzzed with excitement as students, faculty, alumni, Cloverdale neighbors, and Alabama bigwigs came together to celebrate this fresh start.

What's an Investiture Anyway?

Think of it as a super-official welcome party! Presidential investitures are a time-honored tradition, a chance to look back at an institution's history while eagerly anticipating the future under new leadership.

"Celebrate Huntingdon!"

Dr. Leigh chose the perfect theme, "Celebrate Huntingdon," showcasing his love for the college's history and tight-knit community. Six amazing speakers, representing everyone from Governor Ivey's office to the Student Government Association, shared words of wisdom and excitement for Huntingdon's future.

A Family Affair

Dr. Leigh, joined by his wife Wendy and daughter Carey Mae, was presented with the presidential medallion by Leura Garrett Canary ’78, chair of the Huntingdon College Board of Trustees. His academic hood was presented by trustees who served on the Presidential Investiture Committee.

A Ceremony to Remember

Katrina Keefer ’95, Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees, kept things moving as master of ceremonies. The event included an invocation, benediction, and performances of the national anthem and alma mater!
