Justice Served: Autauga County Man Gets Historic Sentence in Child Sex Crime Case

An Autauga County creep is gonna be enjoying a very extended stay, courtesy of the Alabama justice system! Jason Hudson, convicted on a whopping 84 counts of child sex crimes, just got slapped with a 965-year prison sentence.

No Parole in Sight

Prosecutors structured the sentence to ensure zero chance of parole, according to WSFA. They initially wanted even more time, but hey, 965 years is still a pretty strong message.

Victim's Powerful Statement

Hudson, stone-faced as ever, showed zero emotion while the victim delivered a powerful statement, calling him a "monster" unworthy of respect. The victim shared they’ve overcome unimaginable hurdles and declared Hudson no longer has a hold on their life!

Shocking Evidence

District Attorney C.J. Robinson described the case as particularly disturbing. Evidence showed a child "being turned into a sex doll" and videos of the assaults, involving children as young as 18 months old. Seriously, makes you sick to your stomach.

The Investigation Deepens

Originally charged with fewer crimes, the investigation exploded when Hudson accused law enforcement of planting evidence! That backfired big time. Updated forensic technology authenticated the evidence and uncovered even MORE vile material, sealing his fate.

Calls for Stricter Penalties

The sheer brutality of this case has sparked calls for the death penalty for child rapists. A proposal called the Child Predator Death Penalty Act is already on the table for the next legislative session, potentially challenging the U.S. Supreme Court's stance.

Wife Already Behind Bars

And get this: Hudson’s wife, Farren Jill Hudson, is also doing time – 30 years for related charges. As for Jason, his defense attorney is reportedly planning an appeal. Good luck with that!

Montgomery Grapples with Rise in Dog Attacks

Montgomery is already facing challenges with rising violence, and now the City Council is tackling another pressing issue: aggressive dog attacks. Locals are reporting more and more incidents in their neighborhoods, often with little to no consequences for irresponsible pet owners. What's a city to do?

Beefing Up the Dog Ordinance

City officials are on it! They're working hard to strengthen the existing dangerous dog ordinance, aiming to protect residents from these scary situations.

Councilor Johnson Takes the Lead

District 3 Councilor Marche Johnson is collaborating with Steven Tears, Director of the Montgomery County Humane Society, to revamp the city's animal laws. Johnson noted that local enforcement is somewhat restricted by Emily’s Law, Alabama’s statewide process for declaring a dog dangerous.

Finding a Solution That Works

"We’re working on the ordinance... about vicious dogs," Johnson said. She and Tears are digging deep into "Emily’s Law" to find ways to create stronger local provisions. The goal? "To come up with something that we can all agree on" and protect residents from dogs that are currently "frightening our residents."

Understanding Emily's Law

Emily’s Law, passed in 2018, sets strict rules for dogs that cause serious injury or death. It involves a judge deciding if a dog is dangerous and whether it needs to be euthanized or returned to the owner with significant restrictions like microchipping, sterilization, secure enclosures, and a hefty surety bond.

The Limits of Current Enforcement

However, Johnson and Tears point out that these rules can slow down the city’s ability to intervene quickly when a dog poses a threat. Tears explained that animal control agencies can't legally declare a dog vicious, even with documented attacks. "According to our ordinance and laws, [viciousness] can only be determined by a judge," he stated, meaning animal control needs a court order to take action.

Residents Need to Take Action

Enforcement often gets stuck because residents don't follow the required legal steps. Even with photos or videos, animal control can't file a complaint for them. "The complainant has to show up in court to swear to the validity," Tears emphasized. To get things moving, residents must file a sworn statement, provide evidence, and be ready to testify in court.

A Personal Account

Johnson shared a concerning story from a recent meeting: a resident reported that her mother was knocked down and injured by a dog. "The dog attacked her mom and knocked her mom down," Johnson said, adding that "by the time everybody got there, they had already moved the dog."

Moving Forward

Residents are understandably frustrated that these attacks keep happening despite calling animal control. Johnson has promised to meet with the victim's family and to provide clearer public guidance on how residents can properly report attacks so the city can take action.

Alabama's AG Rides the Airwaves

Attorney General Steve Marshall is hitting the radio waves hard in his bid for U.S. Senate. Expect to hear a lot about his conservative credentials, that Trump seal of approval, and his work as the state's top law dog.

Arctic Frost Bites the Dust!

The House gave a unanimous thumbs-down (426-0!) to the sneaky "Arctic Frost" provision. This means our own Coach Tuberville (and other spied-on senators) can now sue the government for up to half a million bucks. Justice!

Ivey Cleans House at Motorsports Hall of Fame

Gov. Kay Ivey gave the entire Motorsports Hall of Fame Commission the boot and brought in a fresh crew to bring some much-needed transparency. Turns out, an audit revealed a whopping 35 violations, including the mysterious disappearance of donated cars, like a '61 Dodge Charger. Gone in 60 seconds, maybe?

ICE Raids Rock North Carolina

Britt Backs Trump's Visa Reforms

Senator Katie Britt is throwing her weight behind President Trump's H-1B visa changes, saying American workers need to be the priority. She's calling for Senate oversight and crackdowns on shady practices where U.S. workers are forced to train their foreign replacements. Ouch!

Palmer Accuses Dems of Trump Obsession

Congressman Gary Palmer is accusing the Democrats of a "psychological obsession" with President Trump, claiming they're pushing the "Epstein Files" release to smear him. He says it's a political ploy, despite the bipartisan agreement demanding transparency from the DOJ.

Trump Signs Epstein Files Transparency Act

President Trump has signed the Epstein Files Transparency Act, ordering the DOJ to release all related documents within 30 days, while protecting victims. Attorney General Pam Bondi has announced investigations into the Clintons and others, as GOP senators warn against delays and Democrats demand unredacted files.

Rideshares: Convenience or Danger?

Remember when getting around meant calling a friend or hoofing it? Now, Uber and Lyft dominate, but are we hopping into cars with total strangers without thinking?

The Rideshare Reality

Living in college towns and D.C., I've seen how vital rideshares are. But those apps can hide serious risks. I've heard too many scary stories! Ever had a rideshare driver who barely speaks English?

The Language Barrier

Does that driver understand road signs? Could they call for help in an emergency? And let's be real, some of these drivers aren't exactly road rule sticklers. That's why I'm pushing for change.

The UBER Act: English for Safety

My Understanding Basic English Requirements (UBER) Act is simple: rideshare drivers in the US need to speak English. If you're working here, English proficiency is a must. It's common sense AND a safety issue!

Taxpayer Dollars, Taxpayer Safety

Uber and Lyft get government contracts, meaning YOUR tax dollars are involved! It's not just about safety; it's about holding these companies accountable. No English skills? No federal contracts for FIVE YEARS!

Minimum Standards NOW

My bill also demands rideshare drivers meet the same federal minimum standards as commercial drivers. We need vetted, safe drivers, period. These companies are prioritizing convenience over YOUR safety. They're hiring drivers who can't even read a stop sign using YOUR money! And are they even here legally?

Beyond Rideshares: Commercial Trucking

The problem isn't just with rideshares. Fatal truck crashes involving non-English speaking drivers are happening, too. A recent tragedy in Alabama is a grim reminder.

Secure Commercial Licensing Act

That's why I introduced the Secure Commercial Licensing Act, mandating ALL commercial driver's license testing be in English.

Fighting for YOUR Safety

These common-sense bills shouldn't be controversial, but some politicians care more about illegal aliens than your well-being. I won't stop fighting to keep Alabamians safe on the road and in rideshares.

U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville is the senior senator from Alabama, a member of the U.S. Senate Veterans Affairs committee, and a candidate for Governor of Alabama in 2026.

Sophomore Labaron Philon, a Mobile native, led the charge with a scorching 24 points in just 25 minutes, along with five assists. He exploded in the second half, racking up 19 of those points!

Oats highlighted the contributions of Houston Mallette and Latrell Wrightsell Jr., emphasizing the team's tight-knit bond. "A lot of different guys answered the bell," he said.

Historical Context

This is the sixth victory over an AP Top-10 opponent under Oats. The win also marks the fifth consecutive victory for the program over Illinois, dating back to 1986.

Senator Britt Champions Citizen Voting Rights!

Alabama Senator Katie Britt is doubling down on efforts to keep our elections sacred, ensuring only American citizens cast ballots in federal races!

Britt, a key player on the Senate Committee on Rules and Administration, recently spearheaded the reintroduction of the Citizen Ballot Protection Act. This bill, the Senate's answer to a similar House initiative led by Representative Gary Palmer (R-Hoover), aims to protect the integrity of our voting process.

Common Sense Prevails?

"Voting is a sacred right reserved for American citizens, plain and simple," Britt stated. "States should absolutely have the power to prevent non-citizens from influencing our elections, whether they're illegal aliens or representatives of hostile foreign powers."

Fortifying the System

The Citizen Ballot Protection Act empowers states to demand proof of citizenship when individuals register to vote by mail. This measure is designed to bolster verification efforts and safeguard against fraudulent voting.

A Blow to Non-Citizen Voting

Britt strongly opposes cities allowing non-citizens to vote in local elections. She argues that such practices undermine the rights of hardworking Americans, disrespect those who legally earned their citizenship, and erode trust in our entire electoral system.

Partnering for Protection

"I'm proud to partner with Representative Palmer and my Senate colleagues to ensure this vital legislation passes," Britt affirmed, "standing up for the right of Americans – and only Americans – to decide the future of our nation."

Palmer echoed Britt's sentiments, stating that the Citizen Ballot Protection Act will prevent illegally cast ballots from swaying the outcome. He also thanked Britt for her leadership on the issue.

Dems Dreamin' of a Tuberville Tussle

Alabama Democrats are on the hunt! They're searching high and low for a brave soul willing to step into the ring with Governor-elect, national championship-winning Coach, and U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville. Talk about a triple threat!

Is Doug Jones the Answer?

Word on the street is former Senator Doug Jones (D-Mountain Brook) is the only name being floated. Remember that 2020 showdown? Tuberville took that one 60-40.

Uphill Battle?

Hmm... seems like a pretty steep climb. Best of luck to whoever takes on this challenge!
