He slammed the mind-boggling delays caused by government red tape, saying it can take a staggering 12 years and $300 million to get innovative products to growers!

Moore didn't just complain; he pressed Terry Abbott, Chairman of the Council of Producers and Distributors of Agrotechnology (CPDA), on the real-world impact. What Happened?

Noble was busted on July 7th, allegedly in possession of some forbidden hemp goodies. We're talking seven Delta-9 pre-rolls and a Delta THC vape pen! But wait, there's more! She's also facing charges of resisting arrest, attempting to ditch the fuzz, and even providing a bogus ID. Yikes! To add another layer, Noble also faced assault and burglary charges in 2023.

The New Rules of the Game

Remember HB445? Governor Kay Ivey signed it, and it's a game-changer. Say goodbye to smokable hemp, and hello to super strict rules on anything else you can munch or sip.

Key Changes

• No hemp sales to anyone under 21.
• Online sales and deliveries are OUT.
• Independent lab testing and clear THC labeling are a MUST.
• Retailers need a license from the Alcoholic Beverage Control Board, and violations can mean big fines, felony charges for repeat offenders, and even losing their license!

Plus, there's a 10% excise tax to fund enforcement of the new law. The ban on smokable hemp is already in effect, with full implementation slated for January 2026. So, Alabama hemp users, stay informed!

We also replaced a cramped spiral staircase with a safer, more open design. We tweaked the guest bedroom layout for better flow. Inside, rich finishes and durable fabrics create a sense of relaxed luxury. Nothing's too precious – it's a home made for living, where elegance meets ease. The original stone fireplace adds rustic charm, while layered textiles, curated lighting, and custom millwork bring softness and sophistication.

Daycare Drama Turns Dangerous in Homewood

Things got way too real at a Homewood daycare Monday morning when a dispute exploded into gunfire, leading to the arrest of an employee for attempted murder, according to local police.

Shots Fired Near ABC Daycare

Cops rushed to the scene near ABC Daycare on Columbiana Road around 9:20 a.m. after reports of shots fired. Thankfully, no one was hurt in the wild incident.

Argument Turns to Alleged Gunfire

Here’s the scoop: a parent and her sister rolled up to drop off a kiddo and apparently got into a heated shouting match with a daycare employee. It allegedly turned physical, but staff jumped in to break it up. The parent crew then hopped in their car and headed down Carr Avenue towards Greensprings Highway.

Witnesses told the fuzz the daycare worker allegedly chased after them in her own ride and unloaded a handgun at their vehicle! Cops later found a bullet lodged in a tire.

Employee in Custody

Homewood PD swooped in and took the daycare employee into custody. She's currently chilling while waiting for formal attempted murder charges to be filed.

Owner Claims Different Story

The daycare owner told local news the whole thing started because the family showed up late for drop-off. The owner alleges the parent punched an employee, breaking her nose, and the sister slammed another worker into a wall and hit a third during the initial kerfuffle.

Investigation Underway

Detectives and crime scene investigators swarmed the area, piecing together the puzzle. No additional injuries were reported. The name of the employee involved hasn't been released yet.

Big Changes Coming to Your Phone Calls, ChumCity!

Get ready, 334 area code residents! You'll soon be dialing 10 digits for every call, just like the rest of Alabama. The Alabama Public Service Commission (PSC) is rolling out the new 483 area code, meaning it's time to add the area code to all your calls.

Get a Head Start!

The PSC is encouraging everyone to start dialing 10 digits now, before the new area code officially launches on February 23, 2026. This "permissive dialing" period is a great way to get used to it! Mandatory 10-digit dialing kicks in January 23, 2026.

Why the Change?

The 483 area code is being added to make sure we have enough phone numbers to go around. The 334 area code is projected to run out of numbers by the third quarter of 2026.

What it Means for You

Don't worry, your current 334 number isn't going anywhere! New customers, or those needing extra lines, might get a 483 area code assigned. The PSC approved this overlay back in March 2024. The 334 area code covers a large chunk of central and southeast Alabama, including Selma, Montgomery, and Dothan.
