CHOM is evolving into something even bigger and brighter: IGNITE at the Saban Center, a brand-new learning wonderland packed with discovery, innovation, and lifelong learning opportunities.

From CHOM to IGNITE: An Exciting Leap!

"Since 1986, CHOM has been THE spot for kids to explore, grow, and play," says Board Chair Liz Obradovich. "We're thrilled to be moving to the Saban Center and rebranding as IGNITE. While we're sad to close CHOM, we couldn't be more pumped about the future!"

A Dream Realized

Founded in the early 70s with a vision from Helene Warner Hibbard, CHOM opened in 1986, later moving to its current downtown home thanks to Mary Louise Armstrong. "My mom loved CHOM and wanted to leave a legacy," shares board member Pat Patton. "She loved watching the children play. My grandkids loved it too!"

One Last Hurrah and a Glimpse into the Future

CHOM will stay open for the next year, so bring your family for one last adventure! A community celebration is in the works, so stay tuned for details.

A small group of protestors gathered outside the State Capitol in Montgomery this past Friday, voicing their displeasure with Senator Katie Britt's vote in favor of the "One, Big, Beautiful Bill."

Alabama Resisters of Indivisible Take a Stand

The protest was organized by a group calling themselves "Alabama Resisters of Indivisible." They openly acknowledged on their Facebook page that a mere 14 people showed up to participate. Ouch!

This self-described group of "like-minded individuals" from Montgomery believes in limiting governmental power. One protestor accused Britt of siding with Trump and MAGA on issues affecting Alabamians.
