Alabama Voters Say YES to Justice!

Big news out of Alabama! Voters overwhelmingly approved both Amendment 1 and Amendment 2 on Tuesday night, signaling a strong commitment to public safety and fairness.

Aniah's Law Gets an Upgrade!

Amendment 1 sailed through with a whopping 81.6% approval! This means judges now have the power to deny bail for even more violent offenses, including solicitation, attempted murder, and shooting into occupied buildings. Think of it as closing loopholes and keeping our communities safer! This was needed after a tragic 2025 shooting in Montgomery highlighted a serious flaw in the existing law.

D.A.s Get a Fair Shake!

Amendment 2 also passed, with 57.8% of the vote. This fixes a pay disparity, allowing elected district attorneys to receive those well-deserved statutory pay raises mid-term – just like judges already do. Fairness for all!

Bipartisan Support!

Both amendments enjoyed near-unanimous support in the Legislature during the 2025 session, showing that protecting communities and ensuring fairness are issues everyone can get behind!
