Lt. Governor Will Ainsworth just snagged a seasoned pro! William Newman, a policy whiz and governmental affairs guru, is joining the team as deputy chief of staff. The announcement came Tuesday, just as lawmakers were heading back to Montgomery for the 2026 legislative session.

Newman's Impressive Background

Before landing in Ainsworth's office, Newman spent five years at the Business Council of Alabama, directing their governmental affairs and policy initiatives. He's been working closely with the Alabama Legislature, helping pass pro-business legislation. Translation? He's got connections and knows how things work under the dome.

Newman's Ready to Roll
