Republican President McKinley himself rolled into Tuskegee Institute, all thanks to an invite from the school's main man, Booker T. Washington. Talk about a power move!

All Aboard the McKinley Express!

The Prez didn't roll solo. Special trains chugged in from Atlanta loaded with his fam, cabinet members, and even General Joseph Wheeler, a former Confederate general from Alabama! History's a trip, right?

Tuskegee Rolls Out the Red Carpet

Tuskegee Institute went all out, welcoming McKinley with open arms (and a massive crowd of over 6,000 people!). Even Gov. Joseph Johnston and the whole Alabama Legislature showed up. It was the event of the year!

Seeds of Good Citizenship

McKinley took a tour, watched a parade, and then dropped some wisdom in the school's chapel. He praised the college's lasting impact and how it was planting the "seeds of good citizenship." Pretty inspiring stuff!
