Hold onto your hats, ChumCity folks! State Rep. Rick Rehm (R-Dothan) is joining the Alabama Military Stability Commission, according to Speaker of the House Nathaniel Ledbetter! This ain't your average committee. The Military Stability Commission is serious business, dedicated to beefing up Alabama's military presence. Think protecting and expanding those vital federal bases and Department of Defense goodies we've got right here in the state. Led by Lt. Governor Will Ainsworth, this bipartisan group includes big names – legislative leaders, cabinet members, and even folks from our own defense-heavy communities. They mean business! Their action arm? The Alabama Military Stability Foundation. “Alabama knows our Armed Forces are the best, and we're all about supporting them, our veterans, and their families,†said Speaker Ledbetter. He added, "Rep. Rehm's years of service are going to be a huge asset to the commission." Rep. Rehm, representing House District 85, is no stranger to service. He was in the U.S. Army, serving with the 101st Airborne Division and 128th Aviation Brigade. After that, he spent 24 years at Fort Rucker, working on radar upgrades and modernization. Talk about dedication! “Alabama plays a vital role in protecting our country, from Redstone Arsenal to Fort Rucker," Rep. Rehm said. "I'm excited to work with this commission to make Alabama even stronger in supporting our nation’s defense." The Commission works hard all year round. Mark your calendars: the 2026 legislative session kicks off on January 13! Get ready for action!Dothan's Rep. Rehm Joins Military Stability Commission!
