And that fallen tree at Joe Wheeler State Park that instantly became a makeshift seesaw? Those little moments are etched deeper than any photo.

Down south, fall shows up differently. Golden marsh grasses sway, the live oaks shed their leaves in slow motion, and the sunsets paint the dunes in warm, glowing hues. Each spot has its own unique beauty, but together they tell the story of autumn in Alabama.

What really makes fall special? It’s the woodsmoke hanging in the air, the satisfying crunch of leaves under your boots, and the majestic sight of a red-tailed hawk circling overhead. It’s gathering around a fire with loved ones, sharing stories, food, and endless laughter. Fall just has a way of slowing us down and reminding us what really matters.
