Alabama Roads Get a Boost Thanks to Rebuild Alabama!

Governor Kay Ivey just dropped some awesome news for Alabama drivers! Over $3.7 million in state funding is headed to cities and counties for 13 sweet road projects. Get ready for smoother rides, folks!

Where's the Money Going?

Here's a quick rundown of where the roadwork's happening:

• Union Springs (Bullock Co.): Hardaway Ave, Levy Ave & Mimosa Apartment Rd are getting a fresh surface.
• Valley (Chambers Co.): CR-379 (Fairfax Bypass) from the Lee Co. line to Towel Ave is next up for resurfacing!
• Butler (Choctaw Co.): Rogers Ave, East Smith St, and West Smith St are all set for some TLC.
• Sanford (Covington Co.): Get ready for a newly paved Snuffy Rd!
• Glenwood (Crenshaw Co.): Sawmill St & Holmes St are getting resurfaced, plus Carroll St gets paved!
• Cullman (Cullman Co.): Graham St SW is getting a full-depth reclamation – that's serious road work!
• Eclectic (Elmore Co.): Seven city streets are about to get a major facelift.
• Belk (Fayette Co.): Eight local streets are on the resurfacing schedule.
• Hale County: CR-29 is getting resurfaced and widened. Room to roam!
• Bridgeport (Jackson Co.): Eleven city streets are next in line for a resurface.
• Sweet Water (Marengo Co.): Main St and 3rd St are getting some resurfacing love!
• Eva (Morgan Co.): Sanders Rd is getting resurfaced and repaired, so get ready for a smoother drive!
• Randolph County: CR-868 will soon be resurfaced, nice!

Rebuild Alabama: Making a Difference!

These grants are the final round of funding for the year under ALDOT’s Annual Grant Program, a direct result of the Rebuild Alabama Act.

Governor Ivey's Take:

"Supporting all Alabama citizens for generations to come has always my mission... Alabama continues to make strides for future generations of Alabamians,” says Governor Ivey. She also said, "Through the Rebuild Alabama Act, we are delivering on that promise to make meaningful investments in local roads... Alabama is keeping our commitment to safer, stronger and more connected communities.”

Cities and counties are pitching in too, adding over $2.4 million in local matching funds. All projects are expected to kick off within a year. Since Rebuild Alabama, ALDOT's program has awarded more than $70 million for local projects, and over 500 road and bridge projects have been made possible across all 67 counties!
