Montgomery just got a major upgrade! Chief Ettice Brickus is the new Chief of Staff for the Montgomery Police Department, bringing with her almost a quarter-century of law enforcement experience. Chief Brickus isn't just new to the role, she's new to the MPD! She joined earlier this month after a stellar career with the Baltimore Police Department, where she was last the Deputy Chief of the Neighborhood Patrol Division. Lucky for us, she's a Montgomery resident! She's now second-in-command to Police Chief Jim Graboys, tackling daily ops, policies, budgets, and strategy. “Chief Brickus is bringing some serious know-how, integrity, and next-level leadership to the table," says Chief Graboys. "Her passion for community policing and commitment to being the best makes her perfect for Montgomery, right now.†Chief Brickus is all about keeping things running smoothly and boosting trust—both in the community and within the department itself. “I’m thrilled to serve the people of Montgomery and support the incredible men and women of the MPD," says Chief Brickus. "I want to build a culture of professionalism, transparency, and service while strengthening our bonds with residents and community partners." Chief Brickus has led in Neighborhood Patrol, Investigations, Special Events, and more. She's got administrative ops, infection control, and strategic planning down pat. She's got a ton of degrees, from places like Johns Hopkins and the University of Maryland, and she's even working on her doctorate! Plus, she's got executive training from Cornell and the Senior Management Institute for Policing. She's involved in tons of professional orgs like the IACP and NOBLE, showing she's all about public safety and growing leaders.
