Councilmember Marche Johnson is reportedly a longtime supporter, explaining there's "nothing going on" for youngsters after 9 pm and citing concerns about underage drinking with the new open container rules.

What Happens if You Break the Rules?

Think you can sneak around? Think again! First two offenses come with a $500 fine. Keep pushing your luck, and you could face up to six months in the clink. Ouch!

Not Everyone's Happy

Councilmembers Andrew Szymanski and Oronde Mitchell voted against the curfew, worried about how easy it'll be to enforce and how it might look for the city. Szymanski expressed concerns about randomly checking IDs and the city's image. "It is important for us, as we try to support programs like Main Street and other downtown incentives, that we focus on growth and positivity."

Police Chief Weighs In
