Senator Tommy Tuberville recently gave a big thumbs-up to Dr. Brian Christine from Mountain Brook! He introduced the Alabama urologist to his Senate buddies during a Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee (HELP) hearing. President Trump nominated Dr. Christine earlier this year to be the next Assistant Secretary for Health at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). It's a pretty important gig! "It's an honor to introduce my friend and constituent, Dr. Brian Christine," said Tuberville, also giving a shout-out to the doctor's wife and sister in attendance. Dr. Christine is an Emory University and UAB grad. Tuberville says if confirmed, Dr. Christine will be tackling big health issues like diabetes, hypertension, childhood obesity, mental health, and the doctor shortage. He's all about expanding access to primary care, especially in rural areas. During the hearing, Dr. Christine emphasized the need to restore trust in healthcare institutions, stating that many Americans feel misled, especially during the pandemic.
