Alabama Sends Help to Texas!

Big news, ChumCity citizens! Governor Kay Ivey announced that Alabama is stepping up to help our neighbors in Texas after the devastating floods.

First Responders on the Scene

A team of 40 brave Alabamians, including Alabama Task Force 1 from Mobile, along with firefighters from Tuscaloosa and Saraland, were deployed earlier this month. These heroes are equipped to handle anything, from searching for survivors to providing medical care in the hardest-hit areas.

More Help on the Way!

And that's not all! A second wave of Alabama rescue workers from the Alabama Mutual Aid System Task Force 2, including folks from Hoover, Vestavia Hills, and more, headed to Texas this past weekend. These guys are packing swift water rescue teams, ready to tackle any water-related emergencies!

Governor Ivey's Words

Governor Ivey shared her support, saying Alabama is doing everything possible to assist Texans in need. She also expressed her condolences for the Alabamians lost in the flooding and offered prayers for the safety of the rescue teams.

A History of Service

This second team, AL-TF2, has a history of helping out! They were previously activated for recovery efforts after Hurricane Helene in North Carolina. This deployment to Texas is expected to last up to two weeks.
