Alabama's automotive sector is answering the call! Since 2020, over $2.1 BILLION has been invested in EV-related projects here, creating almost 2,500 new jobs. Mercedes-Benz in Tuscaloosa County is cranking out all-electric SUVs like the EQS and EQE, supported by a battery plant in Bibb County and a $1 billion investment! Hyundai in Montgomery is also building electric and hybrid models, with a $300 million boost. Plus, supplier Hyundai Mobis is investing $205 million in a battery module plant, bringing up to 400 new jobs. Score! AIDT, our stellar workforce development agency, is even building a $30 million training center in Decatur focused on EVs and future tech. From EV charging experts to parts specialists, these are real careers supporting Alabama families.
