A Madison entrepreneur is throwing his hat in the ring for the Alabama House of Representatives, aiming to represent District 10. Republican Aaron Thomas, whose family runs several popular eateries across North Alabama, officially declared his candidacy on Wednesday. He's looking to bring a business perspective to the State House. "I'm a firm believer in small government, strong family values, and the God-given freedoms that make us who we are as Americans," Thomas stated. "These aren't just words to me; they're the guiding principles of my life, my family, and my business." Thomas's journey began at 16, working at a local pizza place. He eventually took over the business from his mentor and now runs it with his family. He's also an Eagle Scout, showcasing his commitment to service. "As a husband, father, business owner, and your neighbor, I envision an Alabama where freedom is protected, opportunity is earned, and our values still hold strong," Thomas explained. This small business owner is set to challenge incumbent State Rep. Marilyn Lands (D-Madison), who secured her seat in 2024 by campaigning against Alabama's abortion ban. Aaron is married to Amy, and they are raising their two young daughters, ages seven and four. Thomas promises to prioritize job creation and economic growth throughout Madison County, serving the community with integrity and unwavering dedication.Local Restaurant Owner Eyes State House Seat
