Alabama Community Reels After Discovery of Horrific Abuse Bunker

The people of Alabama are heartbroken and in disbelief after a hidden bunker was discovered in Bibb County, revealing unspeakable sex abuse crimes against children. The community is rallying together, leaning on faith and each other, with multiple prayer vigils offering support to the young victims.

The Shocking Discovery

Reports indicate the abuse began as far back as 2022, but the horrifying truth surfaced on February 4, 2025, thanks to a tip received by the Alabama Department of Human Resources.

Sheriff's deputies investigating a home on Aaron Drive in Brent uncovered a concealed underground storm shelter, cleverly disguised by a carport. This hidden space became the scene of repeated sexual assaults. By July 25th, seven individuals were in custody, facing serious charges.

A Disturbing Scene

"It looked like a normal shed," Sheriff Jody Wade stated, "but behind it was an underground storm cellar where these awful acts took place. Something meant for good was twisted into something truly evil."

Inside the bunker, investigators found disturbing evidence: a dirty mattress, a chair, and other meager furnishings. The alleged victims, ranging in age from 3 to 15, were reportedly drugged, bound, and assaulted repeatedly by multiple individuals.

Seven Arrested, Facing Heinous Charges

The seven suspects arrested include William Chase McElroy, Dalton Terrell, Andres Trejo-Velazquez, Timothy St. John, Rebecca Brewer, Ricky Terrell, and Sara Terrell. They face a litany of charges including rape, sodomy, sexual abuse, sexual torture, human trafficking, kidnapping, and even bestiality. Some suspects are related, while others are believed to have paid for access to the children.

"No Child Deserves This"

Sheriff Wade expressed his outrage: "No child deserves this. Stealing a child's innocence and subjecting them to such horrible acts is the most monstrous thing imaginable."

Community United in Prayer and Support

In the wake of these devastating revelations, the residents of Centreville and Brent have come together to offer unwavering support, prayers, and a demand for justice for the young victims.

A moving prayer service was held at Centreville First Presbyterian Church as the sun set, uniting community members in solemn solidarity. Lynn Ellinghausen, a local resident and grandmother, shared her shock and grief.

"I was in disbelief. As a mother and grandmother, I can't imagine anyone doing something so horrific," Ellinghausen told WBRC. "We have to pray every day for these children, their families, and for justice to be served."

Speaking Out Against Abuse

Mayor Mike Oakley spoke passionately during the service, reflecting on the trauma inflicted on the victims. He emphasized the importance of speaking out when abuse is suspected.

"This abuse stole bedtime stories," Oakley said. "It stole the chance to be tucked in at night. It stole the opportunity to go to the ballpark and just have a good day."

"Forget the saying 'snitches get stitches'," Oakley urged. "This is about children. If you see something, if you know something, say something."

Continued Vigilance and Calls for Justice

A second prayer service was held the following Saturday at the Masonic Lodge Uptown, near the Bibb County Courthouse. The event focused on faith, healing, and unity.

"It's hard to believe something like this could happen in our community," stated Oakley to WVUA 23. "Evil exists everywhere, and that's why we're praying, because where there's evil, there's also the good in God."

Oakley urged residents to stand together and remain vigilant. "We need your thoughts and prayers to flood this area with goodness. If you know something, say something. You could affect a child's life, a grown-up's life, and the well-being of our community. Don't be afraid to speak out."

Organizers emphasized that the vigil was for the victims and the entire community as it begins the long process of healing from this unthinkable tragedy. "We're here for everyone affected," Oakley affirmed.

Tragedy Strikes: Child Dies in DHR Employee's Care

A heartbreaking story out of Alabama: a three-year-old lost their life after allegedly being left unattended in a vehicle by a Department of Human Resources (DHR) employee. The employee was reportedly running personal errands.

Questions Arise, Demands for Answers Grow

This raises serious questions. Are DHR employees permitted to use their time and vehicles this way, especially with children in their care? Reports suggest the employee visited a tobacco shop. Is that the full story? What exactly transpired in the hours leading up to this tragedy?

Accountability Now!

The responsible individual must face the full force of the law. The public deserves transparency. We need immediate release of information regarding the ongoing investigation. This demands swift and decisive action.

Dale Jackson Weighs In

Dale Jackson, a prominent voice for Yellowhammer News and host of the WVNN talk show (weekdays, 5-9 a.m.), will likely be discussing this case. Stay tuned for further developments.

Alabama Lawmakers Push for Death Penalty in Child Rape Cases

Following the recent, deeply disturbing child sex abuse case in Bibb County, two Alabama legislators are reigniting efforts to make the state a frontrunner in allowing the death penalty for those who sexually abuse children.

State Rep. Matt Simpson (R-Daphne) and State Sen. April Weaver (R-Brierfield) plan to reintroduce a bill allowing prosecutors to seek capital punishment in cases of first-degree rape or sodomy involving victims under 12.

This bill, previously HB49, sailed through the Alabama House last February with strong bipartisan support but stalled in the Senate.

Challenging Supreme Court Precedent

The proposed legislation directly confronts the U.S. Supreme Court's 2008 ruling in Kennedy v. Louisiana, which deemed the death penalty unconstitutional for non-homicide crimes, including child rape.

Simpson and Weaver, joined by Bibb County Sheriff Jody Wade (investigating the horrifying case involving children as young as three) and Attorney General Steve Marshall, will hold a press conference Thursday to advocate for reconsidering this precedent.

Leading the Charge?

Simpson believes Alabama, alongside Florida and Tennessee (which have passed similar laws), can lead the way in urging the court to revisit capital punishment limits in child sexual abuse cases, especially given the ongoing, stomach-churning details emerging from the Bibb County investigation.

“No Rehabilitation”

"I don’t think anyone who commits offenses on a child this young can be rehabilitated," Simpson stated last year, highlighting the severity of these crimes.

Senator Britt Champions "One Big Beautiful Bill"!

U.S. Senator Katie Britt recently teamed up with Judy Barlow, the VP of the National Federation of Republican Women, to chat about the awesome impacts of the "One Big Beautiful Bill" on us everyday folks and the nation as a whole!

Border Security, Combat Readiness, and Energy Independence?

Britt (R-Montgomery) is singing the praises of this legislation, highlighting everything from beefing up border security and boosting combat readiness to unleashing domestic energy production and, you guessed it, cutting taxes!

Keeping More Money in YOUR Pocket

"It means that hard-working Americans get to keep more of their money!" Britt exclaimed. "And it means we're going to continue to have secure borders, putting in place structural reforms that will keep Americans safe, no matter who's in the White House."

Strengthening Our Military & Energy Independence

Britt emphasized the crucial need to fortify our military and achieve energy independence in the face of growing global uncertainties. The bill addresses just that!

Dominating the Energy Game

According to Britt, this bill isn't just about independence; it's about ENERGY DOMINANCE! "Unleashing American energy is not only great for our economy, but it will help drive down prices on everything from gas to groceries!"

Tax Cuts for All!

Perhaps the most impactful aspect? Tax cuts for us everyday Americans! "If we hadn't passed this, it would have been the LARGEST tax hike on the American people EVER!" Britt noted. "Inaction was simply not an option. Delivering the largest tax cut ever puts hardworking Americans front and center."

Grey Wolf Gets a High-Tech Makeover at Maxwell AFB!

The 908th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron (AMXS) is leveling up its training game! They recently teamed up with Mass Virtual to bring cutting-edge extended reality (XR) training to the MH-139A Grey Wolf helicopter, right here at Maxwell Air Force Base in Alabama.

What's XR Anyway?

Think virtual reality, mixed reality, and augmented reality all rolled into one awesome training package. Mass Virtual, contracted by the Air Force, specializes in creating these immersive VR experiences through their Integrated Technology Platform.

Lasers and Cameras, Oh My!

The Mass Virtual crew rolled out the big guns – LiDAR scanners (think laser-powered depth detectors) and photogrammetry scanners (which stitch photos together for 3D models). This tech allowed them to capture every detail of the Grey Wolf's components with crystal clarity.

Training on 19 Different Procedures

During their visit, the team digitally captured a whopping 19 out of 44 key maintenance procedures. From swapping out rear tires to hooking up tow bars, they recorded everything - sounds, photos, videos, and even 3D video!

Words from the Experts

Master Sgt. Jason Gessler, the point person from the 908th AMXS, highlighted the importance of precision. "Every time that we touch this aircraft, if we do not do it correctly, there are other people’s lives at stake," he stated. "The more training avenues that we have... the better for us."

Eliminating Downtime with VR Training

One of the biggest benefits? Maintainers can train extensively without tying up actual aircraft flying time. A huge win for efficiency!

Boosting Confidence

Master Sgt. Michael Coleman, an avionics technician, is excited about the impact of the new technology. "The VR trainer will be very helpful in training future maintainers... so they can get comfortable without feeling scared to touch a real aircraft."

A New Challenge for the Pros

Caraline Aldis from Mass Virtual noted that while planes are their bread and butter, capturing a helicopter like the Grey Wolf presents a "whole new challenge," but a "pretty fun" one at that!

Coming Soon to Maxwell AFB

Maxwell Air Force Base is joining over 135 other DoD installations in utilizing the Integrated Technology Platform. The Grey Wolf is just the 32nd Air Force aircraft to be added to this exciting virtual hangar space.
