Hoover residents are reeling after a tragic incident Tuesday morning. Police are investigating an apparent murder-suicide involving a husband and wife at their home. The Hoover 911 Center received a call around 93 a.m. from a family member who found the couple unresponsive. Thankfully, a 3-year-old child was present but unharmed. Emergency responders arrived to find both adults deceased from gunshot wounds. Authorities believe the incident was a murder-suicide, assuring the public there is no ongoing threat. Adding to the heartbreak, one of the deceased has been identified as Christina Chambers, a well-known former sports reporter with strong ties to Alabama television and sports. WBRC, where Chambers previously worked, expressed profound sadness, asking for support for her family and their team during this difficult time. Chambers joined WBRC in 2015, becoming a familiar face covering Friday night high school football and other major athletic events. While she transitioned from her full-time position in July 2021, she continued contributing as a freelance sports reporter, including during the 2025 football season. Her career also included roles at WAKA in Montgomery, WLTZ NBC38 in Columbus, Georgia, and Comcast Sports Southeast in Atlanta, covering Auburn University athletics and high school football. A Cullman native, Chambers was a Division I cross country and track athlete at UAB, where she also earned her journalism degree. The investigation remains active, and further details are pending from the Hoover Police.Tragedy in Hoover: Murder-Suicide Investigation Underway
