Rickwood Caverns State Park is gearing up for its annual "Wonderland Under Warrior" extravaganza, returning for the 2025 holiday season! Prepare to be amazed as the cave system transforms into a sparkling wonderland of holiday lights and cheer.

A Cave of Christmas Magic!

For the ninth year running, this awesome event invites families to wander through caves decked out with twinkling lights, themed rooms, and maybe even a Christmas character or two! Park Manager Emily Davis says, "This is the most exciting time of year at Rickwood Caverns!"

Davis adds that the smiles on kids' (and parents'!) faces are what make "Wonderland Under Warrior" so special. It's a truly unique way to experience the magic of the season. You won't believe your eyes!

Mark Your Calendars!

"Wonderland Under Warrior" kicks off Saturday, Nov. 22, and runs right through Jan. 4, 2026. Plus, Santa will be hanging out at the park's Nature Center for photos starting the day after Thanksgiving (Nov. 28) and sticking around until Dec. 22. This year, for the first time ever, they'll be open on New Year's Day!

Important Details!

Book your tickets early by calling (205) 647-9692. Wear comfy, closed-toe shoes. Cave tours are paused during the event and will start up again in January 2026.

Explore the Magic!

Get ready for a self-guided, half-mile trek through holiday scenes, like elf villages, dancing lights, and even ice-themed caverns! The magic begins outside the cave with a huge light display as you enter. Many folks go after dark to enjoy the full spectacle!

"Wonderland Under Warrior" will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, and most Mondays and Tuesdays in December, so make sure you plan accordingly. Rickwood Caverns State Park is located just off I-65 in Warrior, just a short drive north of Birmingham.
